Physiotherapy Indications

  • Tendon injury (e.g. achilles tendon, biceps tendon, quadriceps tendon, rotator cuff)

  • Post orthopaedic surgery

  • Post trauma (e.g. fractures)

  • Spinal conditions (e.g. spondylitis, disc herniation, stenosis)

  • Reduced mobility

  • Pain management (joint pain, back pain)

  • Maintenance of healthy joints and soft tissues

  • Horse-rider reduced performance

What Does Physiotherapy Involve?

  • Subjective assessment

This involves gathering information through a series of questions about your problems, condition, functional restrictions and lifestyle.

  • Objective assessment

This is a physical assessment that may include: observation; gait assessment; palpation; measuring range of movement of the affected area(s), muscle length tests, testing strength, balance and function.

For a horse-rider assessment, in addition to the above, there will also include a ridden observation.

  • Goal setting

To establish aims of rehabilitation for each individual.

  • Treatment

Treatment may include a combination of techniques such as: manual therapy; exercise prescription; education and lifestyle advice.

Prices

New patient assessment (60 mins): £65

Follow up session (40 mins): £55

Horse and rider assessment (2 hours): £120
